摘要: ‘Ageing in place’ initiatives form an important part of broader ‘ageing well’ strategies that are being developed response to demographic change. Increasingly, it is acknowledged understand how individuals shape and modify the space within their own home immediate environment facilitate flexible solutions event a loss independence. The research presented here aims construct both surroundings this construction linked perception ageing growing old. A thematic analysis 28 qualitative interviews resulted two differentiated responses relation adaptations: those respondents who had acted instead sought delay or ‘put off’ any modifications. results demonstrate multi-dimensional experience ageing, diversity types environment, interplay between compensatory social contexts which they take place. need for more holistic approach takes into account factors such as individual's suggested order use environments adaptations made them. Policy can be reinforced by closer user involvement.
