摘要: Abstract A reverse osmosis (RO) desalination process with multiple-feed and multiple-product is the main focus of this work. synthesis-based optimization technique has been developed for design RO system. The adoption approach provides an economically attractive scheme. Membrane separation units employing spiral wound elements were approximated by pressure vessel model presented in paper, which takes into account drop concentration changes membrane channel. simplified superstructure that contains all feasible problem also presented. In structure representation, stream split ratios logical expressions mixing employed, can make mathematical to be easily handled. optimum formulated as a mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem, minimizes total annualized cost equation relating capital operating variables, well structural variables introduced objective function. solution includes optimal system conditions, streams distribution. method could used selection type each stage number vessel. effectiveness methodology demonstrated solving case. comparisons several alternate schemes indicate feed position outlets are critical should optimized design.
