摘要: Abstract Aims We investigated the association of insulin resistance with metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its components among Korean adolescents. Methods analyzed Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2008–2010). Adolescents aged 10–18 years without diabetes (1584 boys 1388 girls) were evaluated. Insulin was assessed by homeostasis model assessment-insulin (HOMA-IR), MetS diagnosed according to 2007 International Diabetes Federation criteria for Results The prevalence 1.4% 1.7% girls. Girls in highest quartile HOMA-IR significantly more likely have compared girls lower quartiles independent survey year, age, body mass index, white blood cell count, alanine aminotransferase [odds ratio (OR), 5.33; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.57–18.11]. Moreover, lowest HOMA-IR, exhibited large waist circumference (OR, 3.22; CI, 1.01–10.35), high triglycerides 6.43; 2.83–14.58), low high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) 2.49; 1.50–4.11). However, such associations not found boys. Conclusions Our results suggest that may be independently associated MetS, circumference, triglycerides, HDL-C only
