摘要: Abstract Background The associations of endogenous estrogen with lipid profiles and insulin resistance were conflicting in both men women. We determined the serum estradiol level free index (FEI) aged Japanese Methods One hundred seventy-four 208 postmenopausal women from 50 to 85 y included this study. Lipid profiles, fasting glucose as well estradiol, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate (DHEA-S) sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) measured. Results Serum concentration showed a significant negative correlation high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) positive triglyceride (TG) after adjustment for age body mass (BMI). In addition, was positively correlated HOMA index. women, levels testosterone not resistance. SHBG negatively TG BMI Conclusion Endogenous is associated unfavorable men. favorable profiles.
