摘要: Abstract The paper discusses fluctuation phenomena in plastic flow. It is demonstrated that dislocation motion materials with high mobility characterized by large velocity fluctuations lead to an intrinsically intermittent dynamics on microscopic and mesoscopic scales even if macroscopic deformation stable homogeneous. indicate the system a deforming crystal close critical point (‘yielding transition’). For of isolated dislocations through weak obstacle fields, this corresponds depinning transition elastic manifold. A phenomenological approach modelling influence collective, motions microstructure evolution discussed. Applications include development misorientations cell structures interplay strain hardening patterning under conditions where fractal arrangements are formed.
