摘要: Plants have been used as medicinal agents since the origin of mankind. High cost and severe side effects associated with conventional chemotherapy has limited their general acceptability fuel up search for alternate options. The alternative treatment options like phytochemicals come ease availability effectiveness. Owing to acceptance, safety, low multistep targeting in signal transduction pathways, plant derived phyto-constituents promising anti-carcinogenic potential skin related cancers. This leads surge research new prevention cure a variety cancers which are major cause morbidity mortality present world. Although very clinical data involving humans is available literature demonstrate favorable eff ;ects on various types carcinomas yet topical these anticancer promising. There mechanisms pathways responsible antitumor activity compounds such loss mitochondrial membrane potential, release cytochrome-c, Down regulation Anti-apoptotic proteins Up pro-apoptotic proteins, Activation Caspase, Fas, FADD, p53 c-Jun signaling pathway, Inhibition Akt phosphorylation ERK, P13K, Raf, survivin gene, STAT 3 NF-kB. In-vitro testing cancer cell lines models offers opportunity identifying action from against review thus aims at providing an overview anti-cancer reported show animal models. Phytochemicals that discussed this include steroids, coumarines, trepenes, essential oils, alkaloids, esters, ethers, resins, phenols flavonoids. also provides information about marketed formulations developed so far treatment.
