摘要: Abstract In this study, the dynamic behavior of uniform thickness, stepped thickness and functionally graded tubes under axial impact are investigated experimentally numerically. A striking mass has been used to tubes. Experimental tests performed by using gas gun numerical results obtained FE simulation. The effect distribution on shortening, energy absorption, force buckling shape investigated. It is found that a change in tube can convert from with mild folds progressive vice versa. addition, it be an approximate which case almost, their identical. This study reveals comparison absorb same more shortening less peak load or mean load; thus, they better absorption specimens. With comparing experimental results, there good agreement between them.
