摘要: Hydroxyapatite (HA) particle impregnated polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) bone cement was fabricated in order to induce bony tissue ingrowth into the pores left behind by resorption of HA. The amount HA 0%, 10%, and 30% weight. After mixing with it cast a 4 mm inside diameter glass tube (10 long). Each specimen cut half used for vitro vivo experiment. Diametral tensile flexural bend tests were made evaluate its mechanical properties. SEM (scanning electron microscope) ESCA (electron spectroscopy chemical analysis) surface characteristics specimen. Push-out test histology studies after implanting specimens six weeks distal portion rabbit femur. results showed significant decrease diametral strength linear increased (p < 0.05). analyses no definite exposure particles on due covering PMMA. interfacial shear implanted increases compared 0% ones but 10% did not show any difference. Histological observation little apposition new more ones. In conclusion, this study decreased properties both increasing cement. much lower implant site other statistically increase push-out end femora.
