摘要: Ubiquitous IS enables novel services and business models, yet require a careful balancing of consumer privacy concerns (PC) – induced by the provision particular sensors information types with functional performance in order to maximize acceptance. For exemplary case Usage-based Insurance (UBI), this paper presents design science approach mitigation PC under parallel consideration system performance. Based on long-term location trajectories from 1’600 vehicles, we assess predictive power emulated designs that substitute information, presumably most sensitive type current UBI designs. We find there are substantial grounds challenge prevalent paradigms infer general insights example for researchers IT professionals, who, when seeking improve privacy, often focus privacy-enhancing technologies instead considering socio-technical context ubiquitous IS.
