Investigating 100% renewable energy supply at regional level using scenario analysis

摘要: Energy modelling work in Ireland to date has mainly taken place at a national level. A regional approach is necessary however, for reach the ambitious targets renewable energy and emissions reduction. This paper explores usefulness of tool EnergyPLAN investigating system South West Region Ireland. estimates 10.5% current share use, with 40% electricity. We build assess reference scenario three scenarios from technological resources perspective. The results show that sufficient are available become 100% quantifies land-use implications. Moreover, can be useful exploring different technical solutions. However, thorough investigations as many alternatives possible, before major investments made future system.
