摘要: Abstract The production by monocytes of interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1 alpha), beta beta), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor (TNF alpha) in intensive care unit (ICU) patients with sepsis syndrome (n = 23) or noninfectious shock 6) is reported. Plasma cytokines, cell-associated cytokines within freshly isolated LPS-induced vitro cytokine were assessed at admission regular intervals during ICU stay. TNF IL-6 the most frequently detected circulating cytokines. Despite fact that IL-1 main found upon activation cells from healthy individuals, it was very rarely septic patients, levels lower than those alpha. Cell-associated not correlated corresponding plasma. Upon LPS stimulation, we observed a profound decrease all beta, IL-6, patients. This reduced pronounced gram-negative infections. Finally, survival but nonsurvival ones recovered their capacity to produce normal amounts stimulation. In conclusion, our data indicate an vivo as well suggest complex regulatory mechanisms can downregulate severe
