摘要: Nickel-lateritic ore is the most common source of nickel in Brazil. The Niquelândia deposit, located State Goias, one famous deposits due to large amounts associated with both oxidized and mainly silicated ores. terms ores are used specify two different formed exclusively by oxides silicate (clay) minerals, respectively. aim present study was characterize thoroughly identify Ni-bearing clay minerals their crystal chemistry support developing a better mineral-processing method or optimizing current improve Ni recoveries. X-ray diffraction, chemical analyses, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy demonstrated that Ni-rich stevensite lesser extent Fe-rich montmorillonite. performed FTIR revealed octahedral positions, substituting for Mg Fe, which results significant layer-charge heterogeneity samples. This seems be responsible reduction recoveries during hydrometallurgical process.
