摘要: The basic mechanisms of information processing by corticostriatal circuits are currently a matter intense debate amongst cognitive scientists. Huntington's disease, an autosomal-dominant neurogenetic disorder characterized clinically triad motor, cognitive, and affective disturbance, is associated with neuronal loss within circuits, as such provides valuable model for understanding the role these in normal behaviour, their disruption disease. We review findings from our studies breakdown cognition particular emphasis on executive functions visual recognition memory. show that disease patients exhibit neuropsychological profile shows discernible pattern progression advancing appears to result response selection. These consistent recent computational models suggest compute patterns sensory input output which behavioural significance environmental context.
