摘要: Osteopontin (OPN) is a secretory adhesive glycoprotein that expressed in various tissues and plays role inflammation tissue repair. It has been suggested OPN wound healing after spinal cord injury; however, the expression of its function under normal conditions following motoneuron injury have not well characterized. Here we examined mRNA before root avulsion. was detected at low level Northern blot analysis, but dramatically increased In situ hybridization immunohistochemical studies demonstrated present only subset motoneurons After avulsion, number OPN-expressing increased, although total reduced. also became apparent activated microglia/macrophages astrocytes. These data suggest upregulation avulsion involved two events, protection neurons post-traumatic inflammatory response
