摘要: At mucosal surfaces, phagocytes such as macrophages coexist with microbial communities; highly controlled regulation of these interactions is essential for immune homeostasis. Pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) are critical in recognizing and responding to products, they subject negative through various mechanisms, including downregulation PRR-activating components or induction inhibitors. Insights into regulatory mechanisms have been gained human genetic disease–association studies, vivo mouse studies utilizing disease models targeted gene perturbations, vitro ex cellular examining phagocytic cell functions. Although provide an important approach study macrophage regulation, exhibit differences, which must be considered when extrapolating findings physiology. This review discusses inhibitory PRR-induced functions the consequences dysregulation highlights that a role intestinal studies.
