Treatment of lipedema by low‐volume micro‐cannular liposuction in tumescent anesthesia: Results in 111 patients

摘要: Lipedema is a painful disease of subcutaneous adipose tissue leading to bilateral increase leg and/or arm volume, but sparing hands and feet. Although conservative treatment with complex decongestive therapy has been considered as the fundamental treatment, micro-cannular liposuction in tumescent anesthesia become surgical option. We report on 111 patients mostly advanced lipedema treated by this technique our center between 2007 2018. The median age was 44 years. Eighty percent had at least one comorbidity. There an association longstanding obesity diseases metabolic syndrome-spectrum. total amount lipoaspirate 4,700 ml, range 950-14,250 ml. reduction limb circumference 6 cm. pain level before 7.8 2.2 end treatment. An improvement mobility could be achieved all patients. Bruising also reduced. Serious adverse events were observed 1.2% procedures, infection rate 0% bleeding 0.3%. Liposuction effective for lipedema. procedure should performed specialized centers.
