摘要: Infective endocarditis (IE)((1)) is a severe condition complicating 10-25% of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia. Although host-related IE risk factors have been identified, the involvement bacterial features in complication still unclear. We characterized strictly defined and bacteremia isolates searched for discriminant features. S. causing community-acquired, definite native-valve (n=72) (n=54) were collected prospectively as part French multicenter cohort. Phenotypic traits previously reported or hypothesized to be involved staphylococcal pathogenesis tested. In parallel, genotypic profiles all isolates, obtained by microarray, analyzed analysis principal components (DAPC)((2)). No significant difference was observed between strains, regarding either phenotypic univariate analyses. However, multivariate statistical tool DAPC, applied on microarray data, segregated isolates: correctly reassigned such 80.6% cases (C-statistic 0.83, P<0.001). The performance this model confirmed with an independent collection (78.8% reassignment, C-statistic 0.65, P<0.01). Finally, simple linear function based subset 8 genetic markers retained valuable both study (86.1%, P<0.001) validation (81.8%, here show that community-acquired are genetically distinct subtle combinations markers.
