摘要: A prospective (Part I) and a retrospective II) study were used to determine the safety efficacy of corticosteroids in treatment septic shock. In Part I, 172 consecutive patients shock admitted over an 8-year period treated with either steroid or saline: 43 received dexamethasone (DMP), methylprednisolone (MPS), 86 saline. The was double-blind randomized, three groups compared for age, severity shock, presence underlying disease, year study. saline-treated patients, mortality rate 38.4% (33/86); steroid-treated it 10.4% (9/86). With MPS 11.6% (5/43), DMP 9.3% (4/43). Thus, overall significantly less group than control group. Further, there no significant difference between DMP- MPS-treated patients. II, 328 studied retrospectively. One-hundred sixty without steroid, 168 MPS. Again, two Mortality among 42.5% (68/160) 14% (24/168); Parts I II combined, complications occurred 6% groups.
