摘要: A method and apparatus for improving handover in an IEEE 802.21 compliant communication network. query is transmitted from a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to media independent (MIH) server (MIHS). The WTRU includes target point of attachment (PoA) and/or preferred mobile inter protocol (MIP) method. receives response the MIHS indicating MIP supported by PoA. Based on received response, may make informed decision regarding handover.
