摘要: Reconstruction for severe stenosis of the hypopharynx, laryngeal inlet, and/or cervical esophagus is a challenging problem surgeon and his patient who want to avoid total laryngectomy. We reviewed case records eight patients relevant published literature in an effort define requirements success causes failure. A variety surgical techniques were used. Seven 8 eat normal or near diet. Two 4 patients, sustained damage at time initial injury, required laryngectomy because persistent aspiration. The 2 remaining did not sustain speak with good voice. Total should be reserved those cannot rehabilitated following optimal reconstruction.
