Factors associated with HIV testing: results from an Italian General Population Survey.

摘要: Abstract Background . HIV testing, with appropriate counseling, can help prevent the spread of infection. This study is first national survey in Italy that examines factors associated serotesting among Italian heterosexuals and part a European Concerted Action. Methods In 1998, cross-sectional telephone was conducted on random sample ( n = 2,603) population ages 18–49 years. Associations between testing risky sexual behaviors (multiple partners past 5 years, intercourse prostitutes, not always using condoms new partner) sociodemographic variables are examined separately for men women multiple logistic regression. Results The prevalence having ever been tested HIV, whether voluntarily or not, heterosexual 27.0 32.8%, respectively. Voluntary reported by 8.4% 6.1% women. Multivariate analysis shows significantly increases odds (Men: OR 2.10; 95% CI: 1.3–3.4. Women: 3.03; 1.7–5.4).
