摘要: Diabetes mellitus has reached epidemic level worldwide. South Asians are known for increased predisposition of diabetes which become an important health problem. Obesity is a well-established risk factor and Insulin resistance. Early detection reduced insulin sensitivity (IS) resistance (IR) need the time. The aim present study was to assess most suitable anthropometric indicator identifying IR or IS determine cutoff points effective indicators. A total 742 subjects were included in this cross-sectional study. Hormone glucose levels estimated using standard protocols. Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio, waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) HOMA-IS HOMA-IR determined. correlations between indices ROC analysis used areas under curve (AUC) points. Among obese non diabetic females, WHR (r = -0.386; P <0.001) showed substantially significant correlation with (homeostasis model assessment sensitivity). demonstrated statistical significance BMI, WC WHR, best 28.06 kg/m2, 94.75 cm 0.91, respectively. It also substantial (AUC 0.65±0.06; 0.021), 0.85 all studied indices. female, greater IR/IS.
