摘要: In this chapter we review three different accounts of unilateral neglect: one maintaining that neglect is due to early visual processing deficits; a disorder an internal representation space; and attention. An attentional view elaborated in which attributed breakdown the processes enabling stimul on contralateral side space lesion “capture” This account predicts stimuli may vary according ease with they attention patients. Further, even when “attentional capture” does not occur, nevertheless be consciously directed neglected side. Data supporting position are reported from search tasks where targets defined either by single feature differences relative distractors or some combination local information, patients free adopt their own strategy cued Neglect was more marked combined-feature searches than single-feature searches, it tended reduced spatial cueing. Implications for understanding operation normal discussed.
