摘要: Abstract : A recent paper by Muller and Findlay (1987) raises the important issue of how to relate parameters d' beta internal mechanisms that process visual stimuli. This commentary considers widely held view changes reflect a variety leading perception, but single high level decision mechanism is postperceptual under conscious control. In complex highly parallel, multi-level system, both sensitivity criterion shifts may influence perception in lawful ways - neither being necessarily more basic important. The paper, some methodological considerations quality Findlay's results. It not argued probability manipulations produce detection tasks identification wrong. implication along with others often draw from this kind result involve 'radically' different selection than questioned. following discussion, terms will refer quantities one computes data collected theoretical variables underly those measured quantities.
