摘要: Wetland habitats are among the most endangered ecosystems in world. However, little is known about factors affecting nesting success of birds pristine grass-dominated wetlands. During three breeding periods we conducted an experiment with artificial ground nests to test two basic mechanisms (the matrix and ecotonal effects) that may result edge effects on nest predation wetland habitats. Whereas effect model supposes predator penetrate from habitat higher density lower density, thus causing latter, according predators preferentially use over interiors. In addition, tested a using shrub simulated real small open-cup passerines. our study area, lowest rates were found interiors substantially along edges both meadow habitat. was not significantly different between interiors, indicating can be responsible for edges. An increased rate also observed nests, resembled pattern same area. Though able distinguish found, results demonstrate species bordering arable land exposed predation. Therefore, increase size patches would lead reduced proportion areas might suitable management practice protect bird cultural European landscapes.
