摘要: Abstract This analysis of A‐level English and Mathematics results from ten comprehensive schools in the north‐east represents some work done first year a ‘school effects’ study entitled COMBSE project ('Confidential, Measurement‐Based, Self‐Evaluation'). The enables participating to compare their with those similar schodls. In an attempt take account differences intakes schools, data were collected for wide range variables expected relate grades: prior achievement, socio‐economic status, class size, teacher characteristics time such as allocated reportedly spent on homework.
