From suspicion to intervention in deafness: characterization of this process in Campinas/SP.

摘要: PURPOSE: To identify and detail the current situation of diagnosis assistance to deaf children in two cities belonging administrative region Campinas (SP). METHODS: It was conducted a survey 320 medical records patients diagnosed with prelingual deafness period between 1996 2005, institutions located Campinas: university clinic specialized individuals. RESULTS: Regarding suspicion hearing loss, average age subjects 1 year 9 months. The mean referred or speech-language pathology service 3 years 6 months; for 4 beginning clinical intervention month; aid adaptation 7 5 months. CONCLUSION: Suspicion deafness, first visit doctor, diagnosis, were all delayed when compared recommended diagnostic standards conditions access services. In addition, there significant delay each stage, especially intervention. Although is well developed economic terms, offering broad network health services, this little efficient regarding
