摘要: Although research has emerged documenting the psychosocial impact of family care for cancer patients, few efforts capture multi-dimensional nature caregiving stress, particularly among socioeconomically diverse samples. Utilizing data collected from caregivers at a non-urban, Southern US site and an inner-city, Northeastern (N=233), present study identified predictors multiple dimensions caregivers' subjective stress (i.e. emotional appraisals demands). Various indicators representing sociodemographic context care, demands, resources were found to exacerbate or buffer feelings exhaustion, role entrapment, loss intimacy with patient. The multivariate regression model also emphasized diffuse yet potent recipient mood problems caregiver mastery/optimism have on stress. findings offer number recommendations future practice focused informal care.
