摘要: Risk factors for superior vena cava perforations following central venous catheterization total parenteral nutrition were identified in a retrospective study of 1058 catheters 853 patients; 540 these size 16-gauge (51%) and 518 14-gauge (49%). Of the catheters, 274 (53%) right-sided 244 (47%) left-sided subclavian catheters. Four patients (0.4%) had perforation. All large bore experienced acute symptoms all pleural effusions. There was no mortality directly related to vascular erosions. Two risk this complication: (1) originating from left side (p < 0.05), or (2) (size larger) 0.01). We conclude that catheter placement represents an increased (Journal Parenteral Enteral Nutrition15:513-516, 1991)
