摘要: The clinical and pathologic findings of 16 examples a distinctive stromal tumor the breast designated as "myofibroblastoma" are reported. Eleven patients were men, average age at presentation was 63 years. Fourteen treated by local excision two simple mastectomy. None lesions recurred or metastasized. tumors grossly nodular well-demarcated from surrounding mammary tissue. Ducts lobules not engulfed neoplasm. Microscopically, formed uniform, slender, bipolar spindle cells haphazardly arranged in fascicular clusters separated broad bands hyalinized collagen. Ultrastructural examination four identified predominance myofibroblasts. Immunoreactivity for S-100 protein cytokeratin absent 10 examined, but desmin immunoreactivity focally present three lesions. differential diagnosis myofibroblastoma includes reactive processes benign neoplasms such proliferative fascititis, fibromatosis, spindle-cell lipoma, neurofibroma, neurilemmoma, leiomyoma. Malignant sarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, metaplastic carcinoma should be confused with myofibroblastoma. significance this entity lies primarily its recognition
