摘要: Hydraulic riser tensioners (for offshore drilling platforms) and piston rods hydraulic systems) have been extensively used in marine environments. They are exposed to a wide variety of severe operating conditions that range from atmospheres splash zone brackish saltwater. The present work describes novel testing methodology, based on the Zero Resistance Ammeter allows determination Critical Pitting Temperature (CPT) as well Crevice (CCT) small angular sectioned samples taken cylinders (tensioner risers rods). CPT CCT pre-screening various materials alloys for their use rods. Several successfully pre- screened using this methodology combined with metallurgical analysis. Of particular interest, part sample may undergo crevice corrosion while is being tested, whereas rest will remain intact. As temperature further increased, pitting can take place those passive areas not undergoing corrosion.
