摘要: Matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), a member of the zinc-dependent metalloproteinase gene family, plays an important role in cancer invasion and metastasis. The current study aimed to evaluate whether expression MMP-2 is associated with survival patients endometrial endometrioid adenocarcinoma. immunoreactive protein was evaluated from adenocarcinoma endometrium 112 treated at Oulu University Hospital, Finland. median follow-up time 88 months. studied immunohistochemically paraffin-embedded tissue samples primary tumours by using specific monoclonal antibody MMP-2. found 80% tumours, including all histological grades. All grade 3 tumors were MMP-2-positive. At end period, 21 22 (95%) presenting MMP-2-negative immunostaining alive, whereas corresponding figure for those MMP-2-positive 78 out 90 (87%). These data suggest that negativity might be linked favourable prognosis Endometrial carcinoma one most common malignancies female genital tract Western countries.
