摘要: Summary Insulin elicits diverse biological responses by binding to its specific receptor. A non-peptidyl fungal metabolite (L-783,281) was identified in a screen for small molecules that activate the human insulin receptor (IR). An active analog with enhanced IR kinase activation potency and selectivity over related receptors also characterized. These compounds acted as mimetic agents several biochemical cellular assays demonstrated antidiabetic activity rodent models of diabetes. Thus, molecule activators exert sensitizing effects cells animal results have implications future development new therapies diabetes mellitus. Pharmaceutical intervention aimed at augmenting function may ultimately prove beneficial novel therapeutic option patients
