摘要: The sensitivity and specificity of a urinary pregnanediol-3-glucuronide (PdG) ratio algorithm to identify anovulatory cycles was studied prospectively in two independent populations women. Urinary hormone data from the first group used develop algorithm, second for its validation. PdG ratios were calculated by method which daily concentrations indexed creatinine (CR) cycle day 11 onward divided baseline (average PdG/Cr concentration days 6-10). In interval method, PdG/CR 1 (lowest 5-day average values throughout collection period). Evaluation study population (n = 6) resulted with > or 3 consecutive being classified as ovulatory; otherwise they anovulatory. 75% 89.5%, respectively, all 88); 50% 88.3% 40) using method; 92.2%, 89); 94.1% method. "gold standard" anovulation weekly serum samples < 2 ng/ml progesterone. both methods underestimated because apparent misclassification progesterone due infrequent blood collection. Blood more than once week would have greatly improved modestly algorithm. provides an efficient approach screening urine collected epidemiologic studies reproductive health
