摘要: Background: The emphasis in health care South Africa is gradually shifting to acknowledge the different roles patients have regarding their own care. There is, however, very little evidence of this practice and related practical outcomes.Methods: In North West province, empowerment evaluation was used as vehicle for patient engagement integrating improving services chronically ill patients, namely those with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), HIV mental illnesses at primary (PHC) clinics. This research designed an additional intervention ongoing quality improvement (QI) cycle, which had started 2007.
