摘要: Giardiasis is a relatively common intestinal protozoal infection in man and animals (2,46). Several reports indicate that the more immunodeficient (3,47) malnourished (44) hosts individuals with tendency to feco-oral transmission, such as infants day-care nurseries (8) or homosexuals (52). The disease may occur both epidemic endemic forms (40,64). clinical spectrum of ranges from an entirely asymptomatic mild, self-limiting illness, chronic diarrhea without malabsorption (34,65). Despite ubiquitous prevalence parasites, pathophysiology remains obscure. Therefore this chapter reviews possible mechanism increasingly important infection.
