摘要: Associative recognition memory and context effects are two lines of research that exist in parallel with little cross talk. tasks ask participants to distinguish the studied associations oftwo or more items from novel rearranged (e.g., Cohn & Moscovitch, 2007; Craik Schloerscheidt, 2011), whereas effect studies have shown ofan individual object is enhanced when presented its original Hollingworth, 2006; Hayes, Nadel, Ryan, 2007). Our study investigated whether familiarity recollection supports both associative through use ofa speeded test. In experiments, a response deadline did not change size ofthe reduce discrimination ofold items, indicating might rely on familiarity. This occurred had engage as it traditionally (discriminating old pairings) task asked discriminate familiar objects backgrounds. studies, reliable was observed. The results suggest for familiarity, which indicates background be encoded one coherent representation, entities (Hayes, Levy, Rabinyan, &Vakil, 2008).
