Phone coaching in Dialectical Behavior Therapy: frequency and relationship to client variables

摘要: Telephone coaching is a treatment mode in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) that designed to help clients generalize skills, prevent suicidal behaviors, and repair therapeutic ruptures. To date, phone has received scant empirical investigation. The aims of this study were (1) describe patterns frequency telephone calls text messaging DBT (2) investigate whether demographic factors, baseline severity, alliance are associated with frequency. Participants 51 adults (35 completers) borderline personality disorder (BPD) six-month comprehensive program. Phone was documented by therapist weekly session notes. average number contacts per month 2.55 (SD = 4.49). Four the 35 completers comprised 56% contacts.
