摘要: Abstract Quantifying the changing patterns and determinants of material stocks (MS) is important for understanding interplay between socioeconomic development environment conservation, addressing challenges in sustainable development. This paper conducts a MS accounting 10 materials 6 major infrastructures Beijing, Tianjin Shanghai, probes into driving factors behind change within 1978–2013 period through logarithmic mean divisia index decomposition method. The results suggest that changes rapid enhancement 1980s, steadily growth 1990s, an acceleration after 2000s. A relative decoupling phenomenon was detected economy MS, which largely caused by decline intensity. policy implications include paying more attentions to improvement efficiency especially buildings, substituting less energy-intensive construction materials, controlling extensive urban sprawl, raising population density.
