摘要: SummaryBackground Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a prevalent gastrointestinal disease with substantial social and economic burden. Treatment options remain limited research on the aetiology pathophysiology of this multifactorial ongoing. Aim To discuss potential role gut microbiota in IBS to identify possible interactions pathophysiologic targets IBS. Methods Articles were identified via PubMed database search [‘irritable syndrome’ AND (anti-bacterial OR antibiotic flora microflora probiotic)]. English-language articles screened for relevance. Full review publications relevant studies was conducted, including additional that from individual article reference lists. Results The supported by varying lines evidence animal human studies. For example, post-infectious humans well documented. In addition, certain probiotics nonsystemic antibiotics appear be efficacious treatment IBS. Mechanisms involved improving symptoms likely go beyond mere changes composition microbiota, accumulating data support interplay other targets, such as gut–brain axis, visceral hypersensitivity, mucosal inflammation motility. Conclusion The still being elucidated; however, it appears one several important factors contributes irritable syndrome.
