摘要: Minimally invasive autopsy by post mortem magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has been suggested as an alternative for conventional in view of the declining consented rates. However, large prospective studies rigorously evaluating accuracy such approach are lacking. We intend to compare a minimally using MR with that fetuses, newborns and children detection major pathological abnormalities and/or determination cause death. recruited 400 consecutive referred one two participating hospitals over three-year period. acquired whole body 1.5 T scanner (Avanto, Siemens Medical Solutions, Enlargen, Germany) prior autopsy. The total scan time varied between 90 120 minutes. Each image was reported team four specialist radiologists (paediatric neuroradiology, paediatric cardiology, chest & abdominal musculoskeletal imaging), blinded data. Conventional performed according guidelines set down Royal College Pathologists (UK) experienced or perinatal pathologists, data were recorded predefined categorical variables independent person. Using gold standard comparator, images will be assessed anatomical morphology, associated lesions, clinical usefulness information sensitivities, specificities predictive values alone along other investigations presented final diagnosis, broad diagnostic categories specific diagnosis each system.
