摘要: Advisory bodies such as the World Health Organization and Dutch Council (DHC) recommend including fatty fish in one’s diet, based on health benefits of their content n − 3 poly unsaturated acids (eicosapentaenoic acid—EPA docosahexaenoic acid—DHA) being, i.e., reduction risk fatal cardio vascular disease stroke. These dietary advices these acids’ (e.g., fish) consumption are only expected benefits. But what would a advice look like when were weighed up against relevant sustainability food safety considerations? The aim current study was to explore consequences for safety, health, solutions meet DHC’s recommendation EPA/DHA consumption. To this end, first, perspectives production consumption, being main source EPA/DHA, identified. Second, alternative diet scenarios, meeting daily advised intake collected subsequently judged (environmental) characteristics. enable structuring process finding complex problems, specific framework applied: solution-focused assessment. Based stakeholder consultation, three scenarios assessed: higher (here: farmed salmon); increased human use by-catch discards; sources walnuts). It appeared that scenario discards, effects environment resources coincide, whereas other two positive result one or more negative environment. Besides, causes problems; however, if changes his/her replaces meat by fish, will lead net safety. analysis shows limits sources. This can support policy makers setting goals deciding measures encourage healthy environmentally sustainable (i.e., EPA/DHA) Furthermore, general impact initiative focusing aspects have aspects, emphasizes added value integrative assessments, which cover multiple designing new policies.
