摘要: Ultrastructural changes in mouse pancreas were studied after 1, 2, and 3 days of fasting. The number zymogen granules markedly decreased 1 day Numerous small secretory granules, approximately 0.2–0.3 μ diameter, appeared the apical cytoplasm. There was increased autophagic activity but signs intracellular degradation not found. After a fast, focal cytoplasmic degeneration marked many acinar cells necrotic. Pancreatic amylase levels also significantly reduced by this time. These extensive degenerative occurring modest periods fasting, emphasize need for careful interpretation results experimental studies where fasting is used to establish baseline on exocrine pancreas.
