Cytotoxicity of vinblastine and vincristine to pancreatic acinar cells

摘要: BALB/c mice were given vinblastine (Velbe®), 40 and 200 mg/kg, or vincristine (Oncovin®), 20 dissolved in saline as single intraperitoneal injections. Non-treated served controls. Animals killed 1, 3, 5, 24 hours 4 days after the drug administration small pieces from pancreas processed for electron microscopy. Autophagocytotic activity increased 3 injection at 5 there large amounts of autophagic vacuoles containing altered cell organelles membranous amorphous debris acinar cells. Cell death atrophy evident later time intervals. It was concluded that vinca alkaloids caused autophagy degeneration pancreatic cells their inhibitory effect on enzyme secretion might depend partly solely cytotoxic action.
