摘要: Over the past couple of decades, Internet has rapidly evolved from a collaborative social experiment to an agglomerate competing commercial providers. This shift helped maintain growth and turned into vast economic force, but it also introduced some serious problems. A particularly bad problem is inability end-users obtain desired levels performance for their transfers. Today, organization can set up contract with its ISP ensure that offers good service traffic. But typical transfers in traverse multiple ISPs clearly infeasible have contracts all them. It possible neighboring enter require them offer each other’s “premium” However, such are extremely rare and, even when used, cannot guarantee end-to-end user Our thesis this paper we support by extending current model binding bi-lateral between entities (e.g. customers providers or peering partners) simple mechanisms produce tacit incentives remote ISPs. use phrase “good service” intentional: our goal not “end-to-end QoS” strict guarantees, rather provide end users flexibility improve experienced transfers, as desired. proposal builds on two main end-user based generate incentives.
