摘要: There is limited knowledge on the biological relatedness between citizens and demographical dynamics within villages, towns cities in pre-17th century Western Europe. By combining Y-chromosomal genotypes, in-depth genealogies surname data a strict genetic genealogical approach, it possible to provide insights into diversity indigenous paternal lineages particular community at time of adoption. To obtain these insights, six Flemish communities were selected this study based differences geography historical development. After rigorous selection appropriate DNA donors, low Y chromosomes different surnames was found each community, although there co-occurrence since start adoption 14th 15th century. Next, high communal comparable with regional across Flanders that time. Moreover, clinal distributions observed according earlier regions No significant indication for distinct development analysis.
