Inverting papilloma of the nose and paranasal sinuses.

摘要: Inverting papilloma of the nose and paranasal sinuses has been classified as a true neoplasm by most authors. It is distinct from ordinary nasal polyps in that it different cause, histologic features, higher recurrence rate, occasionally associated with carcinoma. This study includes 57 patients seen over 30-year period who had inverting for whom history, clinical radiologic findings, treatment methods, pathologic sections, recurrences were analyzed. Features rate epithelial atypia extent lesions. Females showed rates than males. External approaches (lateral rhinotomy) reduced remarkably compared transnasal removal (13 percent versus 45 percent). Four carcinoma papilloma, more extensive operations performed these cases; one patient died tumor. Radical aggressive careful follow-up are advocated because after inadequate possible malignant transformation.
