摘要: Protection of groundwater against nitrate has a high priority in country like Denmark with intensive agricultural production and drinking water based on groundwater. This paper presents Site-specific Concept for Aquifer Nitrate Vulnerability Assessment (SCANVA) aimed at protecting resources. SCANVA is qualitative dynamic concept adjusted to the specific study area depending hydrogeological geochemical conditions. It comprises synthesis very detailed site-specific geological, geophysical, chemical data, definition vulnerability founded redox conditions ground. Data are used interpret geological architecture subsurface, flow These interpretations integrated assess aquifers three dimensions identifying nitrate-vulnerable zones. The demonstrates practical use Danish glacially formed landscape. Glaciotectonic led heterogeneity complex composition thrusted folded layers, which large extent affect aquifers. can be directly applied anywhere N loss from agriculture, groundwater-based supply, reduction ground dominated landscapes deposits. Potentially, might also adapted other substances, dominating processes, settings.
