摘要: A STUDY HAS BEEN MADE TO DETERMINE MAXIMUM ACCELERATION FOR PASSENGER CARS AND THEIR FREEWHEELING HIGH-GEAR DECELERATION UNDER TEST CONDITIONS. INVESTIGATION WAS ALSO OF RUNNING WERE USED IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, WITHOUT OVERHAUL OR SPECIAL 'TUNE-UP', WHILE SECOND INSTANCE OBSERVED NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, KNOWLEDGE OPERATORS. OBTAINED FROM APPROXIMATELY SIMILAR, APPROACHING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15 25 M.P.H. GEAR 20 35 HIGH GEAR, WITH AN APPROXIMATE STRAIGHT-LINE DECREASE ZERO SPEED. IS AFFECTED BY SAME FORCES AFFECTING FREE-WHEELING DECELERATION, BUT ADDITIONAL FACTOR FRICTION COMPRESSION MOTOR, INCREASED RATE GREATER THAN POWER SPEED, AIR RESISTANCE BEING MOST RESPONSIBLE FACTOR. REGARDING OBSERVATIONS ONLY VEHICLES TRAVELING HIGHER EXCEEDED 8 PER SEC., 9 MP.PH. SEC. APPEARS BE DISCOMFORT PASSENGERS. CURVES ARE SIMILAR SHAPE CURVES, EXCEPT THAT ORDINATE VALUES HALF THOSE DECELERATION. SHORT DISTANCE STARTING POINT, DECREASING GRADUAL AFTER SHIFTING INTO HIGH. THIS SHIFT OCCURS 100 200 FT. DRIVERS LOWER SPEED GROUPS SOONER USING ACCELERATION. /AUTHOR/
