Acute and long-term biological effects of mechanically and chemically dispersed oil on lumpsucker (Cyclopterus lumpus)

摘要: Concentration dependent differences in acute and long-term effects of a 48 h exposure to mechanically or chemically dispersed crude oil were assessed on juvenile lumpsucker (Cyclopterus lumpus). Acute post-exposure mortality was only observed at concentrations representing higher than reported after real spills. more apparent treatments whereas comparable EC50s for narcosis. There positive correlation between EROD activity muscle PAH concentration the lower inhibited enzyme activity. The incidence gill tissue lesions low with no difference dispersion methods concentrations. A decrease swimming- feeding behavior SGR start period, but corresponding treatments. Three weeks post-exposure, fish from all showed as high control fish.
